Understanding the Material

This premium quartzite is celebrated for its creamy background with elegant gray and gold veining. As a metamorphic rock, it contains natural characteristics—such as subtle color shading and minor textural variations—that contribute to its unique appeal rather than detract from it.

Key Quality Differentiators

The inspection focuses on balancing natural character with strict fabrication standards.

Acceptable Natural Variations:

• Slight color shading across the slab.
• Subtle movement and variation in the veining pattern.
• Minor pits or fissures inherent to the stone's formation (typically professionally filled).
• A consistent honed finish that may have slight tactile texture differences.

Unacceptable Defects:

• Major color discrepancies from the approved sample or slab.
• Large, unfilled pits or cracks, particularly on edges or near cutouts.
• Visible chips on finished edges.
• An uneven or hazy surface within the honed finish area.
• Any warping or thickness inconsistencies beyond standard tolerances (±1/16").

• Check all resin fills; they should be flush with the surface and acceptably color-matched.

• Ensure slab flatness by checking diagonally with a straight edge.
• Inspect seams (if present) for tightness, alignment, and minimal visibility.

Surface & Edge Quality Control

• Run hands over all surfaces and edges to feel for smoothness; no rough spots or sharp edges should remain.
• Closely inspect all edges for chipping or micro-fractures resulting from handling or fabrication.

Final Presentation & Packaging

• Ensure the slab is clean, dry, and free from residues.
